Silurian.email Basic and Pro

How to set up, connect and administer a professional email mailbox hosted in Europe by Silurian, from your first sign-in to configuring Outlook, mobile and webmail access.

Public guideReviewed 2026-08-06
01

What the service is

Silurian.email Basic and Pro provide managed professional email on a customer domain. The service includes webmail, authenticated IMAP, POP and SMTP, antispam and antivirus filtering, guided SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, and mailbox administration through Silurian.

02

Plans and included mailbox

Included with domain is one 3 GB mailbox requested only from an active domain Workspace; it is not a public purchase offer. The paid Basic plan provides one 15 GB mailbox for EUR 14,40 net/year. Pro 5 includes five mailboxes with an initial 25 GB allocation each and 125 GB assignable organisation capacity for EUR 107,40 net/year. Pro 10 includes ten mailboxes with 250 GB organisation capacity for EUR 199,99 net/year. Extra Storage 100 adds 100 GB assignable capacity for EUR 12,00 net/year. The order controls the subscription limits.

03

Communication platform

Silurian.email includes webmail, Outlook compatibility through MAPI/HTTP, AutoDiscover and EWS, Exchange ActiveSync, secure chat, video calls, calendars, contacts, shared address lists, tasks and notes alongside professional email. Shared files and online office tools are not bundled; they are available as a managed additional service from 50 mailboxes when required.

04

Archive and security

A managed email archive with configurable retention, search, legal hold and a full activity audit trail is being finalised for release. All mail transport and webmail access already use TLS and HTTPS encryption, and webmail supports S/MIME certificates for signing and encrypting messages. Every message passes through spam and malware filtering before it reaches your inbox. Two-factor authentication for webmail isn't available yet, so protect your password carefully in the meantime.

05

Permitted use

Use the mailbox for normal one-to-one and ordinary team communication with employees, customers, suppliers and other legitimate contacts. Protect account credentials, keep devices secure and report a suspected compromise promptly.

06

Marketing and bulk mail are separate

Do not connect a newsletter, campaign, lead-generation or marketing-automation application to Basic or Pro. Commercial bulk sends to multiple recipients, mailing lists and purchased or scraped lists are prohibited. A future Silurian.email marketing product will use separate infrastructure, consent evidence and delivery controls.

07

Connection settings

After activation, the mailbox setup details provide the secure hosts and ports for desktop and mobile. Apple Mail, Thunderbird, eM Client, iOS and Android work from the first sign-in. Outlook uses MAPI/HTTP, AutoDiscover and EWS; each customer domain must complete its required autodiscover DNS record and TLS certificate before Outlook activation.

  • Outlook: MAPI/HTTP, AutoDiscover and EWS setup details.
  • Mobile: Exchange ActiveSync setup details.
  • Incoming and outgoing mail: IMAP, POP3 and authenticated SMTP with TLS.
  • Calendar and contacts: CalDAV and CardDAV.
  • Webmail: secure browser access from the mailbox setup details.
08

Domain and DNS

The domain must publish the mail routing, authentication and automatic client-setup records supplied by Silurian. Silurian can apply them automatically when the domain DNS is managed here; an external DNS provider requires its administrator to publish the exact MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and AutoDiscover records. Do not replace working mail records until the activation plan is confirmed.

09

Mailbox lifecycle

Create a separate mailbox for each person, assign only the storage it needs and use aliases for alternative addresses that should reach the same user. Rotate a password after disclosure, suspend an account when access must stop without immediate data deletion, and export required mail before removing a mailbox. Verify the resulting login and mail flow after each lifecycle change.

10

Security and anomalous activity

Silurian applies mailbox and domain rate limits, filtering and anomaly monitoring to protect customers and delivery reputation. A compromised or abusive account can be restricted immediately while the owner changes credentials and remediates the affected devices or application.

11

Delivery and recovery

Recipient providers independently filter, delay or reject email, so inbox placement is not guaranteed. Keep independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose. Backup, retention and restoration commitments apply only when they are expressly stated in the order; a running server or redundant disk is not presented as a customer backup.
